Purpose
The primary mission of Texas Business Innovators (TBI) is to provide one hour debates to the Dallas-Fort Worth business community on relevant subject matter normally not presented in more traditional settings. For example, the subject of offshoring software development to foreign countries and why development is returning to the United States is considered "controversial" and not accepted in many business discussions and presentations.
However, it is known the many local business and technology groups are hungry for factual information they cannot receive from traditional business forums and organizations. TBI is a forum for relatively unknown speakers, who understand today's issues. No "infomercials" of the speakers' products or services will occur.
All speeches will be well researched to present only the facts and well-edited to eliminate clichés, etc. If several topics can be presented to uncover information, then we can recover statesmanship, ethics and long-term thinking in American business.
A secondary purpose would be to have members interact and promote commerce between their organizations before and after the programs. Tired of elevator speeches? TBI gives real speeches.
Program topics include:
Offshoring software development and call centers and the long-term effects of.
The Federal Reserve Bank - who controls it and the effect of inflation on the economy?
The North American Union and illegal immigration.
Sarbanes-Oxley - what it does to the small public companies and the economy.
Sometimes one size does not fit all (ERP systems).
Supply-side economics, the Laffer curve and taxation.
Process streamlining and Lean thinking.
